What is the difference between Manuka honey and other honey?
Manuka Honey contains Methylglyoxal (MGO) a naturally occurring compound which is formed in the nectar of the Manuka flower. Methylglyoxal levels are extremely stable and are not affected by light, heat or dilution. Most other honeys do not contain the properties of Manuka honey and are affected by light, heat, and dilution.
I am allergic to bee venom, can I take beehive products?
Having allergies to bee venom does not necessary mean that you will react to beehive products. However they must be taken with caution, so please read all warnings, test small amounts on your skin first or consult your healthcare professional. Why can't infants younger than 12 months of age consume honey?
Although safe from adults and children consume, honey can be fatal for infants under 12 months of age. Infants are susceptible to botulism caused by spores of the bacterium Clostridium botulinum, since their gastrointestinal tract is not yet fully developed. The spores can germinate and grow in the intestinal tract, producing the deadly disease.
